Because they go out when everyone else comes in!
MY SISU and M/S ELLA are private vessels under the German flag. Although these boats have never been in German waters so far, we are very keen to highlight the achievements of the DGzRS.
Most important information / Background:
The sea rescuers of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) operate independently and on their own responsibility. Neither public authorities nor individual donors influence the DGzRS's decision-making. The entire work of the sea rescuers is still made possible exclusively through voluntary contributions. They deliberately refrain from using any public funds.
