After looking at his knifes on instagram I had the chance to buy a
Nivala Puukko 100% handmade in Nivala!
Materials:
Hand-stitched sheath made from genuine vegetable-tanned cowhide with a Forged 80CrV2 tool steel blade, Brass fittings, leather, volcanic fiber (the town’s colors), birch bark, and stabilized curly birch.
I was so impressed with the Nivala 150 anniversary puukko that I asked Teemu to make me another one. Since I spend a lot of time in salt water and use it for hunting, I wanted a stainless steel version this time. We agreed on these changes:
– stainless steel blade -> Uddeholm Vanax steel (61HRC)
– a little thinner blade than the original Nivala Puukko
– the liners in white, blue, white (finish flag)
– Villa Unelma is in south Savo -> code of arms in the leather sheet – dark brown leather
– hand sanded bevels – so that the finishing level is higher
…and here it is:

Thanks to Teemu for this perfect handcraftsmanship!
Cheers,
Mario
